Heart failure is a clinical state in which the heart is unable to generate enough cardiac output to meet up with the metabolic demands of the body. The commonest cause in Nigeria is hypertension.
CLINICAL FEATURES
Difficulty with breathing on exertion.
Orthopnoea.
Abdominal swelling.
Leg swelling etc.
DIAGNOSES
Renal failure.
Liver failure.
COAD (chronic obstruction airways disease).
Bronchial asthma etc.
COMPLICATIONS
Stroke.
Pulmonary emaolism.
NON-DRUG TREATMENT
Bed rest.
Low salt didt.
Exercise(within limit of tolerance)
