KIDDIES HOUR: GOODBYE SEB (DAY2)

Sebastian was riding old princess, a white mare.
And he was riding bareback.

He always left his father's smooth black saddle hanging on its hook in the barn, because, as he told his sister, ,Molly,
it was a Kentucky saddle.
And Kentucky saddles were for old men.
Sebastian and princess crossed the big creek,
its banks green with willows and cottonwoods.
"Giddi-yup, old girl!
They cantered up the hill to the back pasture of the Wick storm farm.
Then Sebastian heard the airplane.
There it was, right above him,
small and dark against the pewter sky.
